Our tools and code are open to be used, adapted and improved – shared resources, rather than one-off products.
We publish our code under open source licenses, document our decisions as we go, and keep our specifications, guidance and infrastructure in public view. That includes standards, tools and guidance – all part of a shared effort to improve how data is used for public good.
We think public infrastructure works better when the process behind it is visible. Open source ways of working support collaboration, accountability and long-term value.
If something’s useful, use it. If something’s missing, add it. The more eyes, the better.
